THE DEAL: One Year Of Essendon

One year ago, Essendon was the new office.

Now it is the reason Northside needed another one.

This time last year more than 120 people filled 50 Fletcher Street, champagne glasses in hand, to celebrate the opening of WHITEFOX Northside’s second office.

The space was polished, the ambition was obvious and the team hit the ground running.

Before Essendon had even reached its first birthday, Northcote was open. That made three Northside offices in 18 months: Carlton, Essendon and Northcote. Essendon had barely found somewhere to put the champagne glasses before it became the middle child.

At the helm are Managing Director Dylan Francis and Associate Director Paddy Tilli, alongside Eleanor Currie, Nick Eres, Christy Liden, Analiese Veitch, William Spyrou, Sophie Carmichael and Ava Portelli.

Together, they turned the energy of opening night into something tangible: a bigger team, a strong local presence and enough growth to bring the opening of Northcote forward.

For anyone keeping score, that first year produced 91 sales worth $133.73 million across 29 suburbs, with the biggest deal reaching $7.45 million.

The numbers give you the scale, but the stories behind them were even better.

28 Nicholson Street was sold off market, achieving Essendon’s highest sale price in three years. There was also the custom-built residence at 98 Bradshaw Street, with showpiece entertaining spaces, a gas-heated pool and resort-style scale. It sold within 24 days for the highest price ever achieved on the street. The kind of home that makes even people who look at property all day stop scrolling.

Away from the listings, Nick Eres earned a promotion, Eleanor kept winning from the auction floor and agents across the office smashed their goals. It is the part of the year Paddy and Dylan are proudest of.

“We’ve built a great environment within the office and become genuinely involved in the local community,” he said. “Seeing multiple agents smash their goals has been huge.”

The clearest sign of Essendon’s growth, though, is already sitting in Northcote. Paddy says the office grew “much faster than anticipated”, creating enough momentum to open the third Northside office ahead of schedule.

“To achieve all of that in our first year is pretty special. We’re excited to see how far the team can take it.”

One year ago, Essendon was an opening night and a room full of champagne glasses. Now it has a growing team, $133.73 million in sales behind it and another Northside office already open.

One year in, Essendon is no longer the new office. It is the office that helped make the next one possible.
